Lady Gaga revealed the cover art for her upcoming single “Applause” from her album ARTPOP, set to hit shelves Nov. 11th.
Mother Monster looks like she’s channeling a clown in the whimsical (and slightly creepy) “Applause” cover art. She’s caked in thick white costume make-up with smears of blue and yellow paint smeared across her eyes and mouth.
This is a MUCH different look for Gaga, whom we are used to seeing in sexy, barely there garb.
The pop star recently revealed to WWD, "[The song] is very fun. And that it's full of happiness, because what I'm saying in the song essentially is that I live for the applause….I live for the way you cheer and scream for me. Give me that thing that I love. Put your hands up, make them touch."
“Applause” will be released August 19th.
We’re SO EXCITED for new music from Lady Gaga!
